 Robert Pavési paints landscapes representing in fact imaginary scenes stemmed from his dreams. They arise spontaneously after several years
of travelling all over Provence.
The esthetic originality is created by the conformity between subject and matter. His paintings seem to be sculpted directly in the stones of the spot,
which gives them a charming texture and mediterranean authenticity.
The compositions are solid and the works attain a technical perfection.
The palette of Pavési lightens up the intensity of whites and siennas, his colours blend to create an atmosphere filled with nostalgia and dreams,
conserving nevertheless geometry of villages, magnificence of mountains and vigour of vegetation.
